Congratulations to all the anti-smelter groups and activists and their attorneys on a well-deserved victory against the Environmental Management Authority! Celebrations are in order, but only for a short while.
I am quite fearful for the judge and all those concerned, as it is possible that they will be targets of harassment and intense scrutiny.
It would be wise if they quickly return to reality because this is PNM country and Manning, the EMA and others are not going to take that lying down! The Father of the Nation, the born-again Christian, is probably enraged because he couldn't have his way. The anti-smelter lobby and all concerned citizens have to brace for more difficult battles, as the powers that be will turn up the heat. There is a long and winding road ahead and the war is far from over. They say that goodness is stronger than evil, but evil is still very powerful and reckless and should never be underestimated.
