NOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION

NEC is proposing to develop an industrial port in Claxton Bay (based on a new design concept), north of the existing TCL port and immediately south of the Savonetta Channel. The Environmental Management Authority has requested that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study be conducted by NEC for the revised design of the new industrial port development and that public consultations also be held as part of the NECs [sic] preparation of their EIA under CEC # 1761/2007.

NEC is now in a position to conduct additional public and key stakeholder consultations on the revised port design and the EIA prepared in support of it. In this regard, two public meetings have been organized to seek, record and address the concerns of all stakeholders and the wider general public on this proposed new industrial port development. The Public is invited to attend these meetings as follows:

Wednesday 11th February 2009 (this meeting was canceled. It was not stated whether it will be re-scheduled or not.)
