Simple avenue for smelter protesters

I, like some of the population, am very much against any aluminium smelter being constructed here in T&T, for various logical reasons. I think though that if the protesters against such were really serious about their hue and cry , they would recognise that some elitist people, who wag the head that’s pushing for the smelter, could be of major help. Why though are these protesters not pursuing this avenue?
To explain: we do not ever wish to be at loggerheads with our anointed leader, nor should we agree with him wholeheartedly that a smelter must be built. Remember, after Justice Dean-Armorer made a judgment, the Prime Minister proclaimed with an air of superiority, “The smelter must be built.” Must? Why?
Anyway, Mr PM, go ahead and build, but if you relocate all the people of Diego Martin to areas of marginal seats, you would eliminate crime in this area, and revitalise the housing industry with greater effect than relocating the simple folks of La Brea. Presto! Employment and hardware sales would increase. Then construct the smelter in Diego, so all pollution would blow downwind. See, Mr and Mrs Activist? The power brokers down under would only now manage to convince the anointed one that we do not really need any sort of smelter. Simple. L Seepersad Via e-mail- Log in to post comments
