Stop abusing animals at fetes
Sunday, June 27th 2010
It is the height of social sickness that the organisers of some kind of promotion will let loose a terrified rooster in a crowded nightclub in La Romaine for the partying patrons, many of them intoxicated, to chase down and catch, much to the delight of all present.
The poor bird must have been terrified in that horrible atmosphere of loud music, wild behaviour, nicotine in the air and plain madness.
It was a disgraceful sight to witness, and I will remember this for a long long time. There is no difference between this and masqueraders in a Carnival band two years ago with large snakes wrapped around them. I wish the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the relevant Government ministry will investigate this madness and bring those responsible before the courts. There must be zero tolerance for this nonsense! Melissa Jitasingh Williamsville Source: http://www.trinidadexpress.com/index.pl/article_opinion?id=161706750- Log in to post comments
